REMS Research Support
The UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences recognizes the importance of research in medical training and its pivotal role in shaping the skills and perspectives of future physicians. In support of this vision, the Office of Research Affairs provides financial support to medical students and their research mentors participating in the REMS II/III elective series.
Up to $2,000 per student is available to support expenses related to REMS research activities. These funds may be used at the discretion of the student and mentor to support any aspect of the research experience, including research supplies, travel to present project findings, or publication costs.
Funds should be utilized within one year of completing the REMS II/III elective period.
Eligibility
To qualify for REMS Research Support:
- The student must be currently enrolled in the SMHS medical program and have been enrolled in and completed REMS II/III the summer prior to the funding request.
- The meeting (for presentation requests) must be relevant to the students’ field of research. The student must be first author and accepted for presentation.
- Manuscripts (for publication requests) must be peer-reviewed and indexed in Medline.* The student must be first author.
