Day in the Life of an Internal Medicine Resident

What our residents have to say...

Cole Amundson, PGY2

The UND IM program is one of a kind. There's never a doubt that my education and quality patient-centered care isn't the focus of my day. The people you're surrounded by at this program make you feel like you are in the best place.

Dre Steinwehr, PGY3

Residency at UND provides great training opportunities in a fast-paced environment and ability to train with a wide variety of generalist and specialist attending physicians. You get the chance to work at a Level 1 Trauma Center that is the largest referral center for hundreds of miles around, granting you access to advanced pathologies that are not always seen. This program also offers a large amount of flexibility in scheduling so you can tailor your rotations to your interests. Being a moderate-sized program also allows you to develop close collegiality with many of your attendings. Aside from that, Fargo is moderate-sized city with most of the amenities one may need, though it has a small-town feel where you will see friends, residents, and attendings throughout community events.
