Point of Care Ultrasound

We offer a comprehensive and robust curriculum in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), equipping residents with the skills to perform and interpret bedside ultrasound exams.

POCUS is an essential tool for immediate clinical decision-making and enhances patient care, particularly in emergency and inpatient settings.

To support this vital aspect of training, we utilize SonoSim, a cutting-edge platform that offers interactive, hands-on modules designed to educate and refine POCUS skills. These modules allow residents to practice and master various POCUS techniques, including focused cardiac, pulmonary, and abdominal assessments, all within a supportive learning environment.

Through our structured curriculum, residents will gain proficiency in:

  1. Performing ultrasound exams in real-time during patient encounters
  2. Interpreting images and using findings to guide clinical decisions
  3. Integrating POCUS into daily practice for improved diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes
  4. With dedicated teaching time, access to SonoSim's innovative tools, and expert faculty guidance, our program ensures that residents graduate with strong, practical skills in POCUS that can be applied in a variety of clinical settings.
