Didactics
Half Day Conference Curriculum
Our residency program includes a dedicated half-day didactic session each week, during which residents are relieved of clinical duties to fully engage in educational activities. These sessions cover a broad range of topics aligned with core internal medicine competencies and ABIM exam content. Led by faculty experts and guest speakers, the curriculum includes interactive lectures, case-based learning, journal clubs, and simulation training. This protected time underscores our commitment to high-quality, structured academic learning.

Journal Club

Residents work directly with our faculty experts in evidenced based medicine (clinical pharmacist, physician, and clinical librarians) to facilitate a thoughtful analysis of clinical research. These are lively discussions where residents learn to dive deeply into research and determine if and how the results are applicable to patient care.
Patient Safety Conferences (Morbidity and Mortality)
- Case review conferences led by resident and faculty members to discuss patient safety and improve clinical practice for better patient outcomes.
Internal Medicine Grand Rounds
- Department sponsored Grand Rounds focused on a variety of topics by faculty and guest speakers. Offered four to six times per year.
