Required Clinical Rotations and Other Learning Experiences
The curriculum for the Internal Medicine Residency Program of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences is designed to meet ACGME accreditation standards and ABIM requirements for graduates. We individualize each resident's schedule to ensure an optimal clinical experience based on career goals.
Required Clinical Rotations
The following clinical rotations are required (excluding PGY-4):
- Three blocks Inpatient Internal Medicine
- Resident Continuity Clinic
- Two blocks Critical Care Medicine
- Two block Night Float
- Two Electives divided between blocks
- Three blocks Inpatient Internal Medicine
- Resident Continuity Clinic
- Two blocks Critical Care Medicine
- One block Cardiology
- Two blocks Night Float
- Two Electives divided between blocks
- Three blocks Inpatient Internal Medicine

Continuity Clinic
Our resident continuity clinic is located at our 5th and Broadway clinic in downtown Bismarck. The clinic serves a diverse patient population, representing a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Residents care for a panel of patients longitudinally throughout their three years of residency. Residents are in clinic one week at a time every four to six weeks
