Robotic Simulation
Recognizing the increasing use of robotic surgical technology in general surgery, the University of North Dakota implemented a Robotic Surgery Curriculum in 2018.
Surgical residents have the opportunity to practice simulation activities and work directly on the state of the art robotic surgery platform. The curriculum spans from years 2 through 5. Residents must complete the activities outlined in the curriculum in order to be deemed proficient. Throughout the academic year, they will work hands-on with faculty performing simulation activities on the robotic platform. They have ample opportunity to operate with the robotic platform during their surgical training. Our goal is that our residents feel proficient and safe utilizing the robotic surgery platform when they graduate from our program.
