Surgery Department
The Department of Surgery at UND's School of Medicine & Health Sciences is the largest medical department within the School.
Our historic surgery program includes many advantages for both students and faculty and offers not only student education but continuing education and other opportunities for providers in urban and rural environments!
Mission statement
The mission of the UND Department of Surgery is to inspire, educate, and motivate surgeons to provide safe, equitable, ethical, compassionate, and high-quality surgical care to patients within North Dakota and beyond. Our surgical residents will be ready for rural practice or further subspecialty training upon completion of their program through fostering independence and autonomy in a collegial and caring training environment with diverse opportunities for achievement of growth and proficiency.
