Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program
Welcome to the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND!
Our program is ACGME-accredited and will begin accepting applications for the 2026 Match. We will be accepting two fellows per year for a 3-year program.
The University of North Dakota Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Sanford Medical Center provides advanced training to prepare you for a successful career in clinical and academic cardiology. Our three-year, ACGME-accredited program offers comprehensive exposure to a wide range of cardiovascular pathologies, hands-on procedural training, and opportunities for research and teaching.
As a fellow, you will train alongside expert faculty in clinical cardiology, cardiac imaging, cardiac electrophysiology and interventional cardiology, gaining proficiency in cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Our program is designed to cultivate both clinical excellence and leadership in the field of cardiovascular medicine.

- We offer a high-volume cardiovascular practice with a broad spectrum of pathology while training in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- There is a strong collaboration between clinical cardiology, interventional cardiology, advance cardiac imaging specialists, cardiac electrophysiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery.
- We offer comprehensive training in advanced imaging techniques with state-of-the-art cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology (SPECT and PET), cardiac MRI, and advanced CT imaging.
- Sanford Health provides the full spectrum of interventional cardiology, including structural heart inventions: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Transcatheter edge to edge Mitral and Tricuspid Repair, Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), left atrial appendage occlusion, ASD/PFO closure, perivalvural leak closure and alcohol septal ablation.
- Seven fully equipped cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and peripheral vascular laboratories.
