Anne Therese Lim

Anne Therese Lim, MD

Medical School: University of the Phililpines Manila, College of Medicine, Manila, Philippines (INTARMED program)

Residency: St. Vincent Hospital Internal Medicine Program, Worcester, Massachusetts

Interest: General and preventive cardiology, non-invasive cardiology

Why UND? I chose UND/Sanford Fargo for my cardiology fellowship because during my interview, I felt that the program was very welcoming, collegial and that the faculty really had the passion to teach. The program also prides itself on offering a wide range of pathologies and a huge patient population. Now that I already started fellowship and with firsthand experience, I can truly say that the program does provide a conducive environment for learning with a very supportive faculty, collaborative APPs/nurses/staff, multiple opportunities for procedures/research/writing case reports, detailed lectures/conferences, and most importantly, a good volume of patients with varied complexity.

Derek Anderson, DO

Medical School: Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Residency: University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Interests: Academic Medicine, Heart Failure, Echocardiography

Why UND? I chose the University of North Dakota Fellowship because it allowed me to be in the first class and help start a program in a place where I love working. I can continue to work in Fargo with the patient population I'm familiar with and have the opportunity to work closely with attendings in all subspecialties.
