Financial Aid and Scholarship Information
Financial Aid
Applicants who have been accepted into the Physician Assistant Program may apply for financial aid through the Financial Aid Office at UND. Students may apply for federal financial aid, including the Federal Stafford (subsidized and/or unsubsidized) Loan. Information is available through One-Stop Student Services. Please be advised that this application process is detailed and the time from submission of an application to notification of award is likely to take eight to twelve weeks. You will not receive the actual cash monies until after you have begun your course work in the Program.
Scholarships
- The Physician Assistant Foundation of the American Academy of Physician Assistants is proud to offer scholarships to support promising PA students. Scholarships vary in amount and will be awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and future goals as a future Physician Assistant. Applicants must be student members of the AAPA and currently enrolled in an accredited PA Program. - Individual state PA Academies may have information regarding financial assistance offered through their organizations. The name of the President of your state organization can be obtained from the AAPA office noted above.
- Governmental agencies (Army, National Guard, Veterans Affairs, etc) have incentive programs to assist members in educational goals. Please contact your local office for details.
- Many professional and service organizations provide financial assistance to students. Be sure to check in your local areas for organizations with these opportunities. The local Chamber of Commerce may have helpful information as well.
Department Scholarships
UND PA students are eligible to apply for the following scholarships during their third semester:
The Knutson endowment provides scholarships to UND students, allowing them the opportunity to complete their studies and pursue careers in the health field. The Knutson endowment is awarded to a graduate who will be working in primary care in a rural or underserved area.
Katherine Maryann Rasmussen Scholarship
The Rasmussen endowment provides scholarships to one or more high-achieving and qualified students enrolled within the Physician Assistant Program at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Recipients shall be of high moral character and demonstrate the potential to lead successful lives and careers.
