CASPA application opens the end of April, the application deadline is September 1st. Applications submitted close to the deadline may not give CASPA sufficient time to verify the application before interview decisions are made.

Refer to CASPA for transcript requirements. All prerequisite coursework must be completed and published to an official transcript by the September 1 application deadline. Do not send transcripts directly to the UND PA Program.

  • Three professional letters of reference
  • Personal statement
  • CV/Resume
  • Health care license/certification. Provide a copy if applicable.
  • Population of rural health care experience

2. Apply to UND School of Graduate Studies

Submit an application to the UND School of Graduate Studies.

  • References, transcripts, and a personal statement are NOT required with the graduate school application. However, any transcript(s) verifying the completion of previously in-progress prerequisite coursework is required to be sent and postmarked by the September 1 deadline to the UND Graduate School.
  • If a qualifying bachelor's degree (or higher) has not been conferred on the transcript sent to CASPA by September 1, please note the degree MUST be completed by December 31 and an official transcript showing the conferral of the degree must be sent to the UND Graduate School and postmarked by February 1st . It will be included in the UND Graduate School application.
  • All graduate applicants must demonstrate academic-level proficiency with the English language before they'll be considered for approved admission status. Please refer to Evidence of English Proficiency.

3. CASPA Verification & UND Department of Physician Assistant Studies Evaluation

Following verification of the application by CASPA, UND Department of Physician Assistant Studies will evaluate the application based on multiple factors including academic preparation, clinical experience and meeting the UND DPAS mission. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the UND DPAS within 3-6 weeks following the application deadline to offer an interview for admissions.

4. Comply with DPAS Requirements

4. Comply with DPAS requirements prior to matriculation:

  • Technical Standards
  • Health screening
  • Immunizations
  • Criminal history background check
