YES! If you would like to be considered for federal financial aid, state loans, and need based scholarships.
- Some renewal scholarships are based on Need and require a FAFSA to be filled out each year for the scholarship to be renewed.
YES! If you would like to be considered for medical student scholarships. We have very generous donors who have donated over $1,000,000 and have over 100 scholarships to be awarded each year.
- Deadline: July 15, each year. Scholarship applications will be reviewed after school begins and awarded prior to September 1.
Yes. The following reasons may cause your financial aid to be applied late to your account or not at all:
- If you did not accept your financial aid award in Campus Connection.
- If you did not complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN).
- If you did not complete Entrance Loan Counseling (ELC).
- If your FAFSA application is subjected to verification and you have not submitted all requested documents.
- If you do not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements. See UND.edu/financial-aid/sap for details.

- Can be awarded up to the Cost of Attendance minus other financial aid.
- Apply at www.studentaid.gov. To be approved, the student must have a good credit history, or obtain a creditworthy endorser (similar to a co-signer).
- Private Loan
- Can be awarded up to the Cost of Attendance minus other financial aid.
- Apply for private educational loans through private banks. Keep in mind that many private banks will require a creditworthy borrower (student) or creditworthy co-borrower.

RuralMed is a state-sponsored program designed to increase the number of physicians practicing
in rural North Dakota. Students accepted in the program will have the cost of tuition paid (in the
form of a forgivable loan) in return for practicing medicine in rural North Dakota.

YES. If your expenses are more than what is already allocated in your COA, you may request a budget appeal.
