Hematology-Oncology Fellowship
The UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship in Fargo, N.D., is an ACGME-accredited program that welcomed its first class of fellows in 2022.
Graduates of the program will be board eligible in both medical oncology and hematology through a comprehensive three-year program. The program is a unique partnership between the University of North Dakota and Sanford Health. The program's primary site is Sanford’s Roger Maris Cancer Center and its affiliated hospitals in Fargo. The majority of outpatient rotations will be held at Roger Maris Cancer Center. The majority of the inpatient rotations will be at Sanford Fargo’s Broadway hospital, which is attached to Roger Maris Cancer Center. This hospital is being developed into primarily a cancer hospital. Consults will also periodically be seen at Sanford Fargo’s West Campus hospital, a new facility that opened in 2017, and Sanford’s South University Hospital.
The Hematology and Medical Oncology program utilizes a special partnership with the bone marrow transplant team at the University of Minnesota - Fairview in Minneapolis, Minn. Fellows spend a one month rotation in Minneapolis seeing allogenic transplant patients. Fellows have the opportunity to observe and participate in a variety of rotations such as palliative care, hematology clinic, oncology clinic, elective focus, inpatient, and more.
The program is participating in the National Residency Matching Program and accepts two fellows per year. For more information, contact Sadie Froseth at Sadie.Froseth@SanfordHealth.org.
