Research

All fellows participate in clinical research projects during their three years of training.

The length of research project will depend on each individual fellow's project and plan, but it is anticipated that 3-4 months of dedicated time will be set aside during the three years, primarily in the second and third year, for research. The first year of fellowship will be spent contemplating and developing a research plan. The plan and the bulk of research will be conducted during the second year, and write-ups and presentations will be given in the third year. Fellows will benefit from research opportunities at three different institutions: Sanford, the University of North Dakota, and North Dakota State University.
