Student Ambassador Program
Mission
The MPH Ambassador Program at the University of North Dakota comprises a cohort of current MPH students chosen after an application process to act as liaisons for prospective MPH students, assisting them in finding their academic path and other opportunities. The ambassadors also represent the UND Public Health Program at community outreach events and activities. The primary aim of the ambassadors is to help promote awareness about public health and its effect on individuals, communities, and entire populations.

Areas of Interest: Cardiovascular disease and maternal health
"The main draw of the program for me was the opportunity to work directly with and receive personalized feedback from faculty, through a graduate research assistantship and small class sizes, for a fraction of the cost compared to other public health programs. The other reason I chose UND is because of the online MPH degree option which allows me to work on my degree without having to relocate!"
-
Areas of Interest: Mental health, genetics, biomedical lab sciences, food insecurity & scarcity
"I was drawn to the program's strong emphasis on research and evidence-based practice. The program's commitment to providing students with practical, real-world experience aligned perfectly with my career aspirations. The diversity of the faculty and their expertise in various areas of public health impressed me. The prospect of learning from renowned practitioners in the field was a significant factor in my decision. Furthermore, UND's commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment was highly appealing to me."

Areas of Interest: Health equity, maternal & child health, health policy
"I chose UND because of the specific and specialized approach to Indigenous Health. Having Indigenous faculty and staff from across the nation was a key factor in my decision to apply. Finally, UND provided a strong network of support from alumni, faculty, and resources."

Areas of Interest: Rural health, behavioral health, disease prevention
