Research Ethics Training for Health in Indigenous Communities: Comprehensive Training for Researchers and Community Members
This training provides evidence-based content evaluated through randomized controlled trials and approved by the rETHICS Community Advisory Board as well as American Indian and Alaska Native Institutional Review Boards. The curriculum, held in copyright by the University of Washington, serves as a comprehensive toolkit for conducting research in tribal communities in a culturally respectful and appropriate way.
The training is open to both researchers and community members working with Indigenous communities. Participants did not need to already be conducting research—those who were simply interested in learning more about engaging with research were welcome. The training includes required modules on human subjects research, and upon successful completion, participants receives a certificate of training.
