Sergei Nechaev
Principal Investigator
Dr. Nechaev received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Institute of Genetics and Selection of Industrial Microorganisms in Moscow, Russia. He did his Postdoctoral Training at the Center of Molecular Genetics at the University of California, San Diego with E. Peter Geiduschek as his advisor. He did another Postdoctoral training at the Laboratory of Molecular Carcinogenesis (LMC), NIEHS/NIH, RTP at North Carolina with Karen Adelman as his advisor. His research interests deals with understanding the mechanisms of transcription-induced epigenetic reprogramming. With the use of in vitro cell culture models new concepts and technologies are being developed to determine how environmental influences and chemotherapy drugs affect normal cell differentiation and influence the progression of cancer.
