13th annual Joggin' with Josh set for Sept. 22
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Each fall, Dr. Joshua Wynne, UND vice president for health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine & Health Sciences, invites all UND students, faculty, staff, and community members to advocate healthful lifestyles by joining him for Joggin’ with Josh, an informal 5K or 10K walk, jog, or run around the UND campus. This free public event started in 2010.
This year's outdoor Joggin' event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Participants can come to the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences East Patio for the event, and will receive a complimentary t-shirt upon arrival.
“I’m looking forward to this event, as always," said Wynne, a cardiologist by training. "It's not just a cliche to suggest that exercise is medicine. Regular physical activity clearly and productively can help reduce blood pressure, improve our mental health, and much more. Better health truly starts with being more active.”
Share your photos before, during and after the event by posting to your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts using the #jogginwjosh hashtag. All participants who share their #jogginwjosh experience will go into a drawing for a Garmin smartwatch!
You can register for the event upon arrival at the SMHS or pre-register online here or by visiting the Joggin' with Josh website.
