UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences announces Pre-Med Day Oct. 26
GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Anyone interested in learning about a career as a physician or in the process of applying to the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS) is invited to attend UND’s annual Pre-Med Day. The event will be held at the SMHS from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in Grand Forks.
Organized by the UND SMHS Student Council, Pre-Med Day is an opportunity for college undergraduates and high school juniors and seniors who are thinking about becoming physicians to learn more about studying medicine at UND. Individuals who have applied to the SMHS and need more specific information on the admissions process are also welcome to attend.
The event’s morning session consists of speakers who will introduce participants to the SMHS and the UND pre-medicine and medical school curricula. Panels of medical students will discuss their experiences thus far in medical education at UND.
The afternoon session will provide an overview of the admissions process, including a panel of local physicians who will talk about their lives as doctors. SMHS Simulation Center tours will also be provided.
Students may attend any or all events throughout the day. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP.
Pre-Med Day is free; however, space is limited and reservations are required by Oct. 18. All students under the age of 18 who are not enrolled at UND must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please RSVP to Bethany Reck at bethany.reck@UND.edu or 701.777.4221. Registration on Pre-Med Day begins at 9:15 a.m. at the UND SMHS at 1301 N. Columbia Road, Grand Forks, N.D.
