Twelfth annual School of Medicine & Health Sciences Joggin’ with Josh set for Sept. 23
GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Each fall, Dr. Joshua Wynne, UND vice president for health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine & Health Sciences, invites all UND students, faculty, staff and community members to advocate healthful lifestyles by joining him for Joggin’ with Josh, an informal 5K or 10K walk, jog, or run around the UND campus. This free public event started in 2010.
Being mindful of the ongoing pandemic, we are tentatively scheduling this year's entirely outdoor twelfth annual event for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23. Participants will still be asked to come to the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences East Patio for the event, and will receive a complimentary t-shirt upon arrival. But participants need not congregate with a group for the walk/run and are encouraged to set out from the School on the designated path in a physically-distanced way.
“I’m looking forward to the event that is structured to allow as pandemic-safe conditions as possible," said Wynne. "I hope that we have a great turnout so that we can yet again demonstrate to the greater Grand Forks community that we mean what we say – that exercise is important and makes a difference.”
Share your photos before, during and after the event by posting to your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts using the #jogginwjosh hashtag. All participants who share their #jogginwjosh experience will go into a drawing for a Garmin smartwatch!
You can register for the event upon arrival at the SMHS or pre-register online here or by visiting the Joggin' with Josh website.
