About the Health Sciences

As the healthcare system has evolved to better integrate the health sciences with physician-directed medicine, the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences has evolved as well.

Although many of these health sciences programs have been available at UND for decades, it was not until the mid-1990s that the School changed its name to reflect its diverse program offerings. These professional offerings include: Athletic Training, Medical Laboratory Science, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. A Master of Public Health program was added in 2012.

The health sciences side of UND's School of Medicine & Health Sciences is administered by the School's Dean, Joshua Wynne, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., along with the following associate deans and department chairs:

Associate Dean for Health Sciences
Chair, Department of Medical Laboratory Science
Chair, Department of Occupational Therapy
Chair, Department of Physical Therapy
Chair, Department of Physician Assistant Studies
Chair, Population Health
Chair, Department of Sports Medicine

All admissions to the health sciences programs are handled differently. Visit our Admissions page, or the departments' pages, for more specific information.
