Request to Recruit/Appoint-Non Faculty Routing
This procedure is applicable to
- Benefited staff hires
- Temporary staff hires (<19 hours/week)
Hires not requiring this form/process prior to recruitment and hire include
- Medical residents/fellows
- Students
Request to Recruit Signatures Required
- Supervisor
- PI (if applicable)
- Department head or chair
- Associate dean *
- Dean and vice president (or designee)
*The signature process required for temporary hires would end with this signature.
Routing Process
The Dean’s Office will route back to the originating department once all approvals have been obtained. The department will upload the approved Request to Recruit form to the job opening within Recruiting Solutions (Activity and Attachments tab) along with a copy of the Position Description and organization chart.
Note: All Request to Recruit forms for benefited staff hires will be routed by the Dean’s Office to the SMHS Executive Committee for review and approval prior to requisitioning for position.
Request to Appoint Signatures Required
- Supervisor
- PI (if applicable)
- Department head or chair
- Associate dean or dean/vice president for hires in Administration & Finance, Education & Faculty Affairs, Center for Rural Health, Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research, Indians into Medicine, Master of Public Health, and Student Affairs & Admissions.
Routing Process
The Associate Dean’s/Dean’s Office (as appropriate) will route back to the originating department once all approvals have been obtained. The department will upload the approved Request to Appoint form to the job opening within Recruiting Solutions (Activity and Attachments tab) along with the Letter of Offer (or Transfer Letter of Offer if applicable), a personalized position description, and organization chart.
Note: The Request to Appoint will include the name of the new hire, the start date and the proposed starting salary.
