Simulation in Motion - North Dakota (SIM-ND)

SIM-ND is part of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS).

 

The program supports the School’s mission to improve the health of the people of North Dakota by expanding access to high-quality medical education in rural and frontier communities.

As an extension of SMHS, SIM-ND:

• Strengthens the preparedness and resilience of the rural healthcare workforce

• Helps ensure consistent, high-quality training across the state

• Enhances patient outcomes through realistic team-based emergency training

• Supports interprofessional education by bringing learners together in realistic, team-based scenarios

SIM-ND extends the reach of the medical school beyond campus—delivering immersive training directly to the communities that rely on North Dakota’s healthcare system.

SIM-ND receives additional support from key healthcare partners, including Altru Health System, Sanford Health Fargo, and Essentia Health Fargo.

These organizations contribute additional staff expertise and operational resources that help sustain the program and ensure that simulation training reflects real-world clinical practice across North Dakota.
