Mission and Goals
Our goal is to be the premier forensic pathology fellowship in the U.S.
The University of North Dakota’s Forensic Pathology Fellowship Program will train excellent, compassionate, and ethical forensic pathologists who are dedicated to optimizing death investigation, active in public health and research, and committed to respect, diversity, and serving rural families, communities, Native American reservations, and local governments within our jurisdiction in the Northern Plains.
The program’s scholarship and discovery will ultimately produce innovative solutions for rural death investigation and the advancement of public health and forensic pathology. This statement aligns with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences Purpose Statement: "the primary purpose of the University of North Dakota School of medicine and health Sciences is to educate physicians and other health professionals for subsequent service in North Dakota and to enhance the quality of life in North Dakota.
