Grand Rounds Calendar

Grand Rounds is the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science's lecture series on issues in mental health. Lectures count for CME credit and occur regularly during the academic year.

Title: More Than Medications: Elevating Care Through Interdisciplinary Collaboration for ADHD 

Presenter: Amber L. Christiansen, MS, CCC-SLP, CBIS, ADHD-RSP, Speech-Language Pathologist, Progressive Therapy Associates, Fargo, ND

Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize common barriers to accurate diagnosis and treatment of ADHD when viewed through the lens of neurodivergence and cognitive-communication disorders and how these barriers may manifest in patients
  • Identify the elements of a “gold standard” treatment approach for ADHD, according to available research.
  • Discuss the role of Speech-Language Pathology with strategy-based therapy or coaching for optimizing medical and clinical outcomes for individuals with ADHD.
